This Category 2 water body constitutes the largest ‘No Kill’ fly and lure Trout reservoir (single hooks required) in Nouvelle-Aquitaine. An important advantage is that fishing is allowed from a boat (using oars or electric motor only), including a float tube!
To cater to fly fishing enthusiasts during the closed season for the first fishing category, it is one of the fly fishing reservoirs established by the Dordogne Federation for Fishing and the Protection of Aquatic Environments, open from the last Saturday in October to the day before the second Saturday in March of the following year.
Throughout the year, along the edge of the water body, a building with 4 apartments will allow you to fully enjoy your stay. If you are a fisherman, personalized service awaits you: float tubes, life vests, and fins are provided free of charge (1 set of equipment per apartment).
Regulations
Fishing from a boat is allowed from January 1st to March 11th and from September 3rd to December 31st.
Live bait and dead fish fishing is allowed from May 21st to October 28th.
Fly and artificial lure fishing is allowed from January 1st to March 11th and from May 21st to December 31st.
Located in the Périgord-Limousin Regional Nature Park, our campsite boasts a highly diverse range of preserved natural spaces. The Grand Etang offers visitors an accessible beach for people with disabilities and a promenade along the dam. Come stay at our campsite or in our apartments with a view of the water.
